1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using FireEngine's website, software, or services ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Services.

2. Description of Service

FireEngine provides a self-hosted content management system (CMS) for Firebase/Firestore databases with automatic schema detection and admin UI generation. Our Services include:

  • Software available via NPM package
  • Documentation and support materials
  • Pro features via paid subscriptions
  • Customer support services

3. License and Usage Rights

3.1 Free Tier

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the free tier of FireEngine, including for commercial use. Free tier includes:

  • Basic content management
  • Email/password authentication
  • Automatic schema detection
  • Single user access

3.2 Pro Tier

Advanced features require a valid Pro subscription. The Pro license grants you:

  • Additional authentication methods (Google, Microsoft, GitHub, Facebook, Apple, Phone, SAML, OIDC)
  • Custom roles and permissions
  • Visual schema editor (GUI)
  • Unlimited users

3.3 Restrictions

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
  • Remove or modify any proprietary notices
  • Redistribute or resell the software
  • Use the software for illegal or harmful purposes
  • Exceed the usage limits of your subscription tier

4. Subscriptions and Payment

4.1 Billing

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Paddle. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law.

4.2 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. Once cancelled, your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing cycle and will not renew. You can cancel through your billing portal.

4.3 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with 30 days' notice. Price changes apply to subsequent billing periods.

4.4 Suspension

We may suspend your access for non-payment or violation of these Terms.

5. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account and systems
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Backing up your data and configurations
  • Keeping your contact information current
  • Proper use of Firebase and third-party services

6. Privacy and Data

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which governs how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

FireEngine and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by FireEngine Team and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of your data and content.

8. Third-Party Services

Our Services may integrate with third-party services such as Firebase, Paddle, and others. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and conditions. We are not responsible for third-party services or their availability.

9. Disclaimers and Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING:

  • Warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties of non-infringement
  • Warranties regarding security, reliability, or performance
  • Warranties regarding uninterrupted or error-free operation

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FIREENGINE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
  • Service interruptions or security breaches
  • Damages caused by third-party services

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold FireEngine harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Services, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any rights.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access immediately for any breach of these Terms. Upon termination:

  • Your license to use the Services ends immediately
  • You must cease all use of the software
  • We may delete your account and data
  • Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Norway.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by:

  • Posting updated Terms on our website
  • Updating the "Last updated" date
  • Sending email notifications for significant changes

Continued use of our Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and FireEngine regarding the use of our Services.
